This stand alone Manufacturing business is a market leader in the design, manufacture and supply of technologically advanced lighting products and equipment into a variety of industrial market sectors.

The organisation is now ideally positioned to enter a period of rapid & significant growth based on exploiting their innovative new products and now wish to recruit an exceptional Technical Director, whose principal task will be to provide a product road map in order to substantially increase sales and earnings. This is an autonomous role offering real accountability and an opportunity for personal development in an organisation with considerable growth potential.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Managing Director with budget responsibility for the "Technical" dept, this ‘hands on’ role will focus on total accountability for the technical areas for the business and engineering strategy, with overall team management this role encompasses technology responsibility, providing a coordinating role, product road mapping implementation, quality control, product design and support for all NPD initiatives including strategy, development, and strategic sourcing...

With a strong order book for the next two years within the businesses core market you will be tasked with developing new product and applications into the Specification / OEM markets.

You must provide clear leadership, not only in terms of strategic market direction and business planning but also in the overall management development of the organisation.

Personal Credentials

A high performing technical leader with a background in Electro / Mechanical engineering, ideally gained within an electronics/ lighting environment would be distinctly advantageous ! This could be your first general management appointment...

You will be commercially astute, with exceptional communication and relationship building skills along with the ability to inspire and develop others in order to maximise performance and activity

You must be entrepreneurial, ambitious and motivated with the ability to drive the business forward into this rapid period of growth with the capability to grow with the business as it develops in the UK and overseas.
