Technical / LED Conversions Manager £45-55k+ Neg Basic Plus Bonus ( West Midlands )

The Person:

• The role would suit a technically minded individual from a production/production engineering background.
• Experience in the electrical sector is essential and ideally with lighting/luminaire production.
• Key stakeholder responsible for owning the process from initial enquiry to final delivery.
• Must be customer facing when needed.
• Good team player able to with all internal and external business departments
• Knowledge of lighting standards desirable
• Knowledge of emergency lighting desirable
• Understanding of circular economy principles
• A driven individual with excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• A re-engineered luminaire shall be declared compliant with all relevant directives and standards to permit its UKCA and CE marking.

The Role:

• Set up and build an LED Lighting conversions business unit, and produce the necessary processes for and on behalf of the lighting business. 

• Take initial enquiries directly from customers or internal/external sales department and liaise with relevant departments to deliver production solutions around emergency lighting conversions and remanufacturing of luminaires:
  • Briefing (with customers and internal sales team)
  • Evaluation
  • Development (with technical)
  • Testing
  • Production
• Develop a process for conversions and remanufacturing…
• Functional Test - to check that the luminaire operates as intended including that the charge healthy indicator is illuminated. Testing shall be conducted on each re-engineered luminaire in accordance with the requirements of LIAQA Module 6E – Emergency Lighting.
• Apply appropriate technical skills of re-engineering any luminaire for emergency use, to ensure adherence to ICEL quality standards.
