The Role

The Service Director will lead and evolve the end to end service function. This is both strategic and operational. It requires someone who can design the model, build the team, and deliver performance on the ground.

Key Responsibilities Include:

•    Define and execute the service strategy aligned to business growth
•    Build a scalable national service infrastructure, including field engineers and partners
•    Lead installation support, commissioning, maintenance, and after sales delivery
•    Drive service revenue growth through contracts, upgrades, and lifecycle support
•    Improve customer experience, response times, and first time fix rates
•    Develop robust systems, processes, and reporting to support scale
•    Lead, mentor, and grow a high performing service team
•    Work closely with sales, product, and operations to ensure joined up delivery
•    Manage service budgets, margins, and commercial performance
•    Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards
•    This is a visible leadership role with direct impact on brand, retention, and long term profitability.

The Experience Required

We are looking for a proven service leader who understands both the technical and commercial drivers of a modern service function.

Key experience includes:

•    Senior leadership experience within service or after sales, ideally in heating, HVAC, Renewables, or related engineering sectors
•    Strong understanding of heat pump technology or transferable experience from adjacent markets
•    Track record of building and scaling field service operations
•    Experience of driving service as a profit centre, not just a cost base
•    Deep understanding of customer experience and service performance metrics
•    Commercially astute, able to balance cost, quality, and growth
•    Experience managing engineers, partners, and third party service networks
•    Strong leadership presence, able to influence at board level and engage teams on the ground
•    A blend of strategic thinking and hands on delivery is essential.
