Product & Compliance Manager (Electrical Category) £55k+ Neg Basic + Bonus + Car
The Role:
The Product & Compliance Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Product management function and team in the Electrical Division You will be tasked with managing new product launches, ensuring existing products continue to receive maximum exposure, planning strategically to ensure the successful introduction of new products.Role and Duties:
Develop (in conjunction with the MD) the vision, goals, strategies, and tactics for the successful launch of new products into the Specification & Trade Divisions of the UK Understand the material differences in product specifications and market preferences between the multiple Countries that are serviced in the relevant sector.Once identified, carry out extensive evaluation (in conjunction with the Commercial team and business Leaders) of the economic merits of selling these new products into the respective markets. Measure the cost of development including specification changes, tooling changes, compliance costs, sales volumes, margins, and competitive pricing.
Once ratified, prioritize this new development portfolio and work with the Group R&D Development Director and Managing Director to develop an action plan to Manufacture OR source these new products – and expedite to market.
Analyze product risk, market risk and economic data as well as internal performance information to underpin the decision to invest in these new products.
Assists with the development and execution of market intelligence (MIA) efforts to uncover insights, trends and opportunities that lead to growth. Transform these findings into actionable insights to inform positioning and/or marketing strategies.
Monitor, understand and respond to competitive product performance, branding, messaging, and tactics.
Create a go-to-market plan to deliver successful product launches in the UK & overseas territories.
Monitors sales and marketing trends and make recommendations for enhancing market penetration and sales growth.
As appropriate, attend Management meetings of the UK team.
• Ensure that new product development projects follow a structured development lifecycle with appropriate stages, checkpoints, production engineering and handover to production.
• Ensure that appropriate testing & certification to British and European technical & safety standards is integral to new product development.
• Ensure ongoing compliance of all products with British and European technical & safety standards, including staying up to date with changes, assessing the impact on Group products and ensuring timely re-testing & re-certification as necessary.
• Be the subject matter expert for any product technical issues & queries, which could range from technical questions from product developers, analyzing reported faults with products, and dealing with installers & contractors on queries or issues relating to installation.
Qualifications & Experience
A first-class Marketing or Commercial degree or demonstrated related experience.Strong technical experience or background in Electrical / Electronic products or an associated industry. An understanding of connected devices and the IOT would be advantageous.
Experience of sourcing / developing products for the European and Asian markets Substantial experience in Compliance, Product Marketing or Product Management.

Appropriate expertise & experience in the following areas:
• British & EU standards relevant to manufacture of low voltage electrical accessories
• IEC Electrical Regulations and Compliance Experience
•Hands on working with and or testing of LV products
• Electrical Installation Experience including 16th or 17th British Standard BS 7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations. IET Wiring Regulations.
