National Sales Manager £60k+ Neg Basic Plus High OTE + Car
This newly created position will oversee the sales and business development aspects of the business, responsible for helping grow key existing accounts and help bring new key business on board. The ideal candidate will have the ability to build their sales department. You will also be responsible for managing the successful performance of a team of 12+ independent sales agents so that the company can continue to grow.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish challenging and reasonable sales targets for staff, based upon current market trends, growth expectations and in line with company expectations.
- Managing, developing and coordinating external and internal sales force.
- Co-ordinate with and inform the Managing Director of issues and successes.
- Manage and develop the sales agents to ensure company targets are achieved / surpassed by accompanying them on client visits, providing critical feedback and any necessary training.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in the marketing plan and makes adjustments as needed alongside the Marketing manager.
- Ensuring maximum market penetration for expanding customer base & product portfolio.
- Recognise top producers for their contributions to the company by creating an atmosphere of reward and positive competition for staff.
- Prepare sales forecasts on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis.
- Business Development – new and existing relationships. Manage and develop key National Electrical wholesale and Retail ( Re-seller) opportunities, including overseeing deal negotiations and implementation and realising optimum results for both existing and new relationships.
- Work closely with other office based departments.
- Analyse sales data in order to identify strengths and weakness of promotional activities alongside Marketing.
- Oversee the budget for the sales force.
- Develop policies and procedures as they relate to sales.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrates good leadership, management and communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Dynamic, charismatic with excellent negotiation skills and very commercially astute
- Possesses a good knowledge of how current market trends influence sales.
- Is persuasive and can easily influence others – excellent people skills.
- Is proactive and anticipates potential problems before they can hinder a company’s success.
- Possesses excellent customer service skills.
- Can comfortably balance driving the sales force to achieve optimum results, whilst delivering new opportunities and crucially ensuring that they achieve their potential
- Proven track record in development of new sales strategies and target additional markets.
- Maintains a positive attitude and constantly encourages others.
- A full, clean driving licence.
Education and Experience
- At least 4+ years in a National Sales Manager or Sales Director position in Electrical Wholesale or Audio Visual or similar industry.
- Well regarded at highest levels within the industry, with established relevant contacts across the National Wholesale and Retail market.
- A strong and clear understanding of the trends within industries.
- A minimum of 3 years robust team management.
- Proven track record and measurable success in terms of delivering sales revenue and driving up demand.
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience.
