Overview:

As part of the Electrical Leadership team, the Regional Director is accountable for driving and developing the electrical proposition and growth strategy of the New Division by influencing and invigorating the behaviours of a regional network of branches and sales account managers to ‘win’ in their designated region.

The Role:

Forming part of the electrical leadership team, the successful candidate will create a clear and compelling vision for their team that will be required to ‘win’ in the new electrical division, including the engagement and alignment of the electrical strategy to the overall group company strategy. Use AI, data and industry experience to ensure that knowledge and best practice is deployed throughout the business actively seeking opportunities to work smarter not harder.

Key Responsibilities:

Customers & Sales

  • Accountable for bringing to life the Electrical vision, target customers and USP's throughout the regional branch network and national sales account manager population. Ensure that all direct and direct reports recognize and deliver on the agreed proposition, proactively identifying opportunities to further grow the electrical proposition through new and existing customers. The ability to engage and build relationships with senior account managers to leverage existing relationships is a must!

​Operations:

  • Operate within a matrix structure, understanding and working collaboratively with the existing structure; that said, taking accountability for the effective performance of Electrical sales and profit through the implants and standard branches within a defined region, and Nationally through senior account managers. Drive performance through others to ensure that the electrical branches are operating efficiently and cohesively with the wider sales and operations teams adding an attractive and specialist proposition to the core business network
  • Take ownership for supporting all electrical colleagues to analyse the information and data available, apply their experience and translate this into clear plans to efficiently and tactically grow the business ensuring that the impact of pricing and margin decisions are clearly understood both at a local and national level.
  • Hold the electrical team accountable for delivering a compelling range that drives operational efficiency while ensuring that the needs of the target customers are met. Provide constructive feedback to the category team and challenge them to continuously develop the mandated range to support the sales and operations teams supply chain and stock management.
  • Develop and agree on the region’s annual operating plan each year and manage AOP forecast variances throughout the year as required responding quickly to changes and challenges in financial performance to identify any remedial action required to return to a position of growth.
