Job Role

Reporting into the Northern European Director, the Business Development Manager supports the European Business strategy and Country growth by working with the senior executive team to drive product sales throughout the designated region.

Key responsibilities and purpose of the role:

  • Responsible for optimizing all the key aspects of the organization's sales growth, driving collaborative sales revenue within the company.
  • Develop and execute sales & marketing plans / strategies for products with clearly defined value propositions
  • Evolve and manage the company’s sales initiatives to provide business growth opportunities as well as improved customer journey experience
  • Demonstrate deep experience in the assigned region that you'll operate within, leveraging expertise around customer insights, macro and micro trends
  • Develop deep customer relationships, leading initiatives for the business to leverage with Specifiers, (Consultants, End User's. Architects, Lighting Designers, Local Auth's & Contractors)
  • Communicate as the internal face of Scandinavia business sales & marketing and ensure that revenue targets are met and surpassed.
  • Responsible for developing the brand awareness and growing a sales organisation on a local & National basis
  • Research European market trends and promote products that suit local demands
  • Design, implement and communicate organisation's brand to a growing target audience.
  • Understand and monitor local and competitor trends as a leading lighting expert within the company.
  • Work with group business leaders on developing appropriate strategies for your region and in conjunction with Group strategy...
  • Define and report on key sales performance metrics.
  • Define KPIs, streamline, automate, scale and measure sales & marketing tasks

What are they looking for?
Experience, Qualifications, Skills:

  • Degree and or a professional qualification preferred
  • 5+ years’ work experience in business development, and or sales. ( Lighting industry is desired! )
  • At least 5 years’ experience selling into Commercial sector with management capability
  • Significant experience in a B2B role within the " Lighting / Electrical / Controls " or closely associated industry is required.
  • Deep experience in working in an entrepreneurial environment, solid in selling through Specification to Consultants / End users and a track record of leading successful projects.
  • Strong creativity, energy, and significant analytical and marketing rigour.
  • Relevant business and Industry sector experience related to Product - I.e. (Lighting, and or Electrical, Manufacturing etc.)


  • Direct experience working in for Product Manufacturer, Channel partner, Electrical related preferred.
  • Financial budget management experience.
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Must be able to make decisions and solve problems
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Visionary, organised and efficient
  • Proven track record of success within the industry!!
  • Passionate people and team leading skills, including setting direction, building plans, and coaching teams for success
Based in Stockholm or Gothenburg and able to travel Nationally - must have professional English Language skills are essential for this key appointment
