The Role:

•   You will be responsible for overseeing the development and success of the company’s products. Working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that product development aligns with business strategy and meets customer needs.
•   As a key decision maker, you will play a critical role in shaping the direction of the company’s product roadmap, aligning product strategy with business goals. Driving product discovery, market research, and competitor search.
•   Ensure the team performs the requisite product discovery and research activities so that the product meets customer needs and provides value.

•   As a senior leader within the company, you will be responsible for driving innovation and new product initiatives. Adopting modern ways of working, analysing the market and competition, communicating product vision and strategy to stakeholders, regularly reporting on the status of development, and keeping the senior management team informed of the product organizations strategy.
•   As a primary interface with customers, you will be responsible for communicating the voice of the market to your team and stakeholders. Translating customer needs into product requirements.
•   As a key owner and driver of product vision, strategy, and roadmap you will be responsible for aligning with other key stakeholders in the product development lifecycle, working with the Heads of department and external stakeholders to drive the product strategy forward.

•   To provide guidance to the team on both short and long-term goals, thinking strategically and analytically to provide appropriate and timely guidance during each stage of the product development lifecycle.
•   To liaise with overseas manufacturing facilities on production and technical issues. Ensuring products are manufactured to the required highest specifications.
•   To lead the creation of new product ideas, parameters and designs that align with the company’s brand and customer needs. Assess how successful a product is likely to be upon release, monitoring product goals and discuss how to continue toward these goals.

•   To allocate resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment, so team members can work efficiently toward new product development.

•   To build and grow an exceptional team, hiring, onboarding, coaching, and enabling them to bring products to market - Run design reviews, workshops and one -to-ones.
•    Plan product launches, collaborating with product marketing, the development team, and the sales team to develop go-to-market strategies, positioning, messaging, and pricing.
•    A degree of international travel will be involved to attend industry shows and visit manufacturing facilities in the US, Europe, and Asia.
 

The Person:

•    You will be an experienced Product  Development Manager with a proven track record of new product development and delivery in a design-led consumer products environment.
•    An excellent communicator with exceptional organizational, administrative and team leadership skills, and experience of working with cross functional teams.
•    A strong leader who can steer the team towards its product goals whilst ensuring it stays aligned with the product roadmap and strategy. Ensuring the team achieves the timelines and roadmap committed to the customer.
•    You will have financial awareness to drive results, experience of managing budgets, both team and resource, return on investment and product pricing.
•    You will be adept in communication and relationship management, internally and externally. A skilled presenter, capable of balancing short-term and long-term goals.
•    The ability to forge strong relations with other leaders in the company, heads of department, sales and marketing, and other internal and external stakeholders.
•    Able to balance competing priorities, a good problem solver who can overcome the day-to-day challenges/obstacles often associated with new product development.
•    An articulate and personable leader, able to convince and drive consensus and alignment across different stakeholder teams, at every step.
•    Strong strategic thinking skills and a solid understanding of business dynamics to align product initiatives with overall business objectives.
•    Experience in building and managing high-performing product management teams, with business cases and metrics as proof of results.
•    You will be adaptable and flexible as the product management landscape is dynamic and constantly evolving, it is important that you are comfortable with change and capable of driving it.
•    A deep routed understanding of the delivery of new products is essential. You will be keen to join a well-established, forward-thinking company, who have ambitious plans for substantial growth.
