Product Design Manager (Consumer Lighting) £55k+ Neg Basic Plus Bonus

 ROLE:

• Develop and engineer New Products and product specifications for Consumer lighting projects, taking into account technical and aesthetic considerations, budget, and timescales and manufacturing processes.
• Use 3D CAD and analysis tools to produce product concepts and new product designs in accordance with marketing requirements
• Work within and manage project timescales and NPD process requirements.
• Use skills and knowledge to produce the most appropriate, creative and cost-effective design solutions.
• Manage individual projects in conjunction with colleagues located in the Uk & European business locations
• Maintain NPD systems, paperwork and documentation.
• Maintain close links with design community and ensure that trends in materials, finishes, production techniques, etc. are used to create innovative, market leading product concepts.
• Initiate design protection for your innovations

REQUIREMENTS:

• Fluency in 3D CAD (UG NX)
• Understanding of different manufacturing processes, moulding, extrusion, sheet metal work and also rapid prototyping techniques
• Familiarity with high volume sheet metal production techniques
• Knowledge of automated production and assembly systems
• Project management skills
• 5+ years proven product design experience (lighting experience not essential but preferred)
• Good knowledge of English & German language ( advantageous )
• Direct communication style and excellent collaboration skills
• Ability to generate and communicate design ideas through quality hand drawn sketches
• Passionate about design
