Southern Sales Manager - ( Contractors ) £55k + Neg Basic plus High OTE + Car / Allowance
The Role
Working within the UK Sales Organisation and reporting to the National sales manager, the Contractor Sales Manager South will be expected to generate increased demand for the full portfolio of products with Electrical Contractors & Specifiers.
Although recognized Distributor / Contractor relationships can also be supported where appropriate, it will be essentially an 80/20 split (Contractor / Distributor)
The role is externally based and will involve a significant amount of travel within the area, meeting with the end customer / contractor network to discuss business opportunities & develop proposals that deliver sustainable, long term profitable sales growth. The is a key position and central to sales growth through project-based business
Main Duties
• Consistently achieve and exceed annual business plan for the area in terms of revenue growth, call rates and pipeline generation.
• Enhance relationships with existing customer to maximize sales and retention.
• Attend and conduct relevant client meetings, trade events, CPD seminars and technical product awareness meetings
• Recognize and act upon project opportunities for bespoke
• Pro-active management and development of Contractor base working in conjunction of the Distributor sales team to ensure sales potential is maximised
• Identify and develop new opportunities with Electrical Contractors and Specifiers to build a pipeline of business that you can translate into a healthy conversion rate.
o This will include preparing and providing written / verbal proposals.
o Technical submissions
o Quotation review and issuing to client / contractor
• Maintain and update CRM with recognised opportunities, and where applicable include relevant documents (quotes, meetings, product spec etc…)
• Maintain a solid working knowledge base of competitor and marketplace activity as well as Electrical regulations and compliance
o Providing intelligence and feedback to head office where appropriate.
o Competitor and SWOT analysis where appropriate
The Person
• Energetic and pro-active sales professional is sought with a genuine desire to make a real difference.
• Background from an electrical manufacturer or key account or external sales position with Distributor (to contractors)
• Technical background, with experience of selling within the electrical sector and circuit protection an added bonus.
• A self-starter will be encouraged to work remotely, but within a team ethic to achieve results.
• Ideally you will have a proven 3-5 years’ experience of generating demand with Electrical Contractors / Specifiers.
• A team player who can work in liaison with external sales teams to maximize sales
• Balancing demand creation with successfully managing and supporting a defined contractor network
• Capable of analyzing of take off drawings into an offering the best solution for the client
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with ability to positively influence stakeholders.
• You must have strong territory planning skills and the ability to establish prospects quickly
• You can demonstrate a track record of consistently exceeding sales targets.
• A high level of General IT literacy, especially Microsoft tools with CRM experience desirable
