Technical Electrical Engineer – East Mids £30k+ Neg Basic + Benefits

Summary

The purpose of the role is to provide the necessary technical resource for the support of customers’ needs and sales requirements, to support the function of new products through the stages of technical approval and assist where applicable to manage all variables associated to those products through to completion.

Principal Skills and Duties

Electrical - Knowledge and understanding of power circuits
Electronic assembly
Electrical development and assembly
Mechanical development and assembly
Customer liaison for technical problems
Liaison with our Indian and Chinese factories
Product Management and understanding of process and organisation of product through varied stages to completion.

Other duties and skills

Drawing - CAD, SolidWorks or similar (Not essential)
PCB Layout – Altrium or similar
The upkeep and administration of Technical Files and Product Information
Ability to read, digest and implement National Standards
Testing and evaluation of lighting products
Preparation of Datasheets, reports.
Returns/Faulty products – investigation and reports

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a technical/electrical/electronic environment with some product management experience. You will be self-motivated, well organised and professional, with a good telephone manner, and have a desire to learn new skills.
