Company Overview

Our Client’s, are one of the UK’s largest decorative lighting supply companies now seeks to employ a proven Lighting Category Buyer, with experience of private label range development for major high street brands and wholesaler partners.

Position

This position will report to the UK Managing Director and will be responsible for developing and guiding the implementation of the LED Lighting business plans. It is a highly collaborative, hands-on role, where you will maintain excellent relationships with key retailer contacts, ensuring that there developing and supplying ranges of product to meet client needs.

Responsibilities

• Excite and inspire the customer with innovative plans that meet and exceed profitable growth targets  
• Manage and develop all external and internal relationships to strengthen a competitive position
• Continually assess and correct business performance, to ensure the Company meet or exceed customer and business expectations
• Source, influence and manage contract and price negotiation with supply chain manufacturing partners for product categories
• Manage and coordinate internal processes and procedures, ensuring that procurement management is aligned to all supporting departments
• Complete financial reporting including budgets, forecasts and costs
• Evaluate the product plan and take accountability for both short and long term buying objectives & take ownership of the product development process in UK & Far East

Requirements

• 3 years+ Buyer experience with private label brand experience for high street retailers / electrical wholesaler channels
• Track record of success
• Strong trading and procurement understanding
• Highly driven and motivated by results
• Natural inclination to spot opportunities
• Strategic in outlook
• Creative in thinking
• Financially literate
• Keen interest in business development
• Accurate and fast
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written, at all levels
• Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills
• First class interpersonal and negotiating skills
• Degree level education in marketing or business maybe an advantage
• Experience of domestic lighting products and market sector desirable
• Proficiency in all key MS applications essential
