International Business Development – Smart Lighting £70k+ Basic plus Bonus plus Car

 

Job Summary

 
The primary role of the International Business Development Manager is to increase the deployment of Street Lighting Central Management System schemes to new and existing customers in all International territories
The secondary objective is to be the voice and ears of the company to make sure that our Smart City/Smart Lighting systems and associated product ranges are kept up to date and that new product needs are identified and implemented.
 

Key Accountabilities

  • To ensure the timely and successful implementation of CMS installations to support achievement of the business financial and strategic goals.
  • To provide expert technical and commercial support to customers. Including presentations at exhibitions, seminars and industry events as well as initiating the development of suitable marketing material.
  • Help create and achieve the Budget including both sales targets as well as the profitability targets.
  • Develop and implement the agreed long term strategy for the Smart Lighting system.
  • With liaison with the suppliers manage the introductions of new products to the market from design through to manufacture, marketing and sales.
  • Promote and sell the lighting solution to customers in all potential territories, Worldwide.
  • Keep the company informed about new products and process initiatives. Ensure that all steps of the implementation from sales forecast to customer training and installation are planned and implemented. Make sure that all potential targets groups have been identified and that appropriate communication processes are in place. Support the sales force in the implementation phase of new projects.
  • Research, investigate and identify potential new areas for business development and growth in relation to new and existing products and services.
  • Provide market and pricing data for the introduction of new products including the management of communications including literature both physical and electronic.
  • Manage the life-cycles of product ranges especially product rationalisation.
  • Support / underpin meetings and decision making process in relation to territory, customer focus, new or existing products and services.
  • Assimilate views and information on specific markets and customer requirements plus keep abreast with product developments.
  • Liaise with the commercial team to ensure product costing and pricing are in line with market expectations.
  • The role will be either office based and will include travelling to all customer areas, including international, to support new product and project implementation.
  • To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required / instructed by line management.
 

Skills

  • Managing large projects, including implementation in the field
  • IT literate with experience of Microsoft Office
  • Presentation skills using appropriate tools including PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels

Experience

 
Experienced in the lighting/electrical industry, in producing management reports and present results at meetings, Experience of selling/sales and territory management Internationally is highly desired.
 

Qualifications

 
Technical qualification or relevant experience in Electrical Engineering qualification or experience in commercial/ financial field.
Engineering Degree in Electrical or mechanical is desirable
