Our Clients are manufacturers of architectural light fittings. They are a private company operating throughout the UK. They pride themselves on being a modern and forward thinking company, working across a wide range of exciting prestigious projects within the residential, office, commercial and leisure sectors including Premiership Footballers Homes. Their core clients are architects, interior designers, lighting designers and other lighting professionals.
Position
They are seeking a self motivated Lighting Sales Professional who is already established within the lighting industry and is looking to establish a long term career within a design lead company. The job will largely consist of meeting with design professionals ‐ selling and advising on application(s) of products for project specifications.
The selected candidate will be provided with nominated accounts and will be confident in taking qualified leads and turning them into sales. The chosen candidate will also be able to enhance their existing database by actively seeking out new business opportunities. For this post, you will need good business acumen; the ability to operate at all levels and capabilities to build upon relationships that will develop turnover. You will understand what is involved in the construction process and you will be able to track the project from the initial specification to an order and beyond.
The Person
You will ideally have an architectural/design background and have worked on a diverse range of projects. You are a naturally tenacious person with good communication skills, plus the ability to present ideas both visually and verbally and can work under your own initiative. You have an interest and enthusiasm for the design and architecture of building and interiors, having the skills to apply lighting technology to develop the visual feel of the space. You have at least 2/3 years’ experience in preferably the lighting industry (although not essential), with a good all round product and market knowledge, knowing how the “specification sales” industry operates. As well as the above, applicants must have a sound knowledge of MS Office software and it is essential that you can read architectural plans and lighting drawings.
The Package
On offer is a competitive remuneration package, which includes a good starting salary, commission, private health care and pension scheme. A car / allowance is provided where appropriate.
All applications will be treated in the strictest of confidence!
