Business Improvement Manager (Manufacturing) £55-65k+ Neg Plus Bonus + Car


Our Client is investing in their highly supported continuous improvement programme and seeks an addition team member for their UK & Ireland Continuous Improvement and Change team. The job holder will work on a variety of exciting projects and initiatives in close conjunction with core operational teams, using expertise in lean manufacturing and / or six sigma to identify continuous improvement opportunities and then deliver structured projects to achieve measurable improvements in Quality, Cost and Delivery (Process).

Duties:

  • Highlights and develops business improvement opportunities
  • Develops, trains and rolls out standards and best practices using lean manufacturing and six sigma / lean tools and principles
  • Problem solves to identify root causes of selective issues restricting or affecting the business using process improvement and problem-solving tools such as; process mapping, kaizen events, value stream mapping, SMED, poka-yoke, FMEA, C&E analysis and 5S.
  • Develops and implements performance management systems that will help to measure and manage operational performance
  • Partners with the plant’s General Manager, Process Managers and Shift Managers (in the operation) to plan and execute operational and tactical improvements
  • Drives development and rollout of technology tools into the operation
  • Acts as a mentor to coach and develop staff in the mind-set of continuous improvement
  • Supports adherence to, and sustainment of, the Group global operational excellence programme

To be considered it is essential that candidates demonstrate experience of driving continuous improvement / lean initiatives / world class manufacturing within any demanding and fast moving manufacturing and engineering sector. Candidates will be of graduate calibre and will ideally (but not essential) possess Six Sigma certification. Most importantly we require a track record of driving and leading cultural, long-term sustainable change. You will demonstrate a progressive career, likely to have originated from engineering or manufacturing. You will possess energy, excellent communication and influencing skills and have an engaging hands-on people management style, coupled with genuine passion for change and enrichment of the work place utilising world class improvement techniques.
